Ladybug Music Director & Teacher

At an early age, Melissa showed a passion for music and theater. She loved performing in various community theater productions; the first role she remembers was being Peter Rabbit at age 3.  She entered the stage, hopped around the bunny trail, and left the stage. That five minutes of “stage-time” peaked her interest in theater and she participated in almost every production. This passion transpired into her studying piano, voice, and theater at Clarke University where she received her BA. She continued to perform in various productions until she obtained her Master’s degree in Education. She spent 5 years teaching high school and then left to start Ladybug Music MN.

Of all her roles, her favorite has been the role of Mom to her daughter, Keira, and son, Greyson. As a mom, she loves spending time with her kids and engaging them with parent-child classes.  Melissa stumbled upon Ladybug Music and fell in love with the unique music and downloaded it immediately. After weeks of playing the songs and dancing with her daughter, she wished this class from California was in Minneapolis. So… long story short, she contacted Patricia and after about a year of communicating, we are bringing this class to Minnesota! She is elated to be able to help children and their parents have fun together as they discover the joy of music.

Ladybug Music Teacher

Julie grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico in a very musical family.  She began playing the violin at 7 and spent her summers at Hummingbird Music camp learning to sing and play new instruments.  She went on to receive a BA in Sociology from the University of San Francisco.  Her love of children led her to a career working with families. She has been a professional nanny for the last 15 years and has worked with many families. Throughout her years as a nanny, Julie used her musical talents to engage and educate the children she worked with. She enjoyed taking the kids to various parent/caregiver-child classes, plays, and concerts. Currently, Julie is in graduate school and working towards her MA in Education. She is one busy mama 🙂

Julie’s most important and rewarding job has been being a mom to her 3-year-old daughter, Santana.  She was hoping to find a career where she could work with music and music, so she is elated to have the opportunity to show her musical talents at Ladybug Music.  Hopefully, one day she’ll bring her violin in! We are so thankful she has joined our team. She has a lovely singing voice and has a fabulous personality
